Introducing our new sponsored riders – meet Molly McAllister and Ebony Roderick!

Here at Thorpe Farm, we have a pretty simple mission in life – to make sure that as many horses and ponies as possible can live their life to the fullest! That means being healthy, fit and happy when they’re doing their job and being cared for beautifully when they’re here on livery. Our founders Amy and Tommy have decades of experience between them and coupled with our facilities, that’s a pretty epic combination.

We wanted to make sure that as many people as possible know about our facilities and the services we offer, so that’s why we started to search for a new sponsored rider to help us spread the word. This is also an amazing chance for us to help one rider achieve their aims, as we all know that when it comes to keeping horses healthy and financing a competition season, every little helps…

The search for a new Thorpe Farm sponsored rider begins!

Amy and Tommy have recently taken a week off to recharge their batteries ahead of the busy autumn and winter here at the farm, so we waited for them to come back before we advertised. Then, a couple of weeks ago, we put a shout out on social media that we were looking for a new sponsored rider. We had a few requirements to ensure we found someone who was exactly the right fit for us, including having goals for 2024, a love for getting out there and competing, an active social media presence and a penchant for taking snaps and videos of their horse training and competing, plus we wanted them to have visited and used the facilities here before. The response was amazing with hundreds of applications from riders and their wonderful horses. In the end it was impossible to whittle it down to just one new sponsored rider, so we picked two! What’s more, they’re both young riders so we can all follow their progress as they grow and improve…

Introducing the dynamic duo – Molly and Ebony!

So, without further ado, here are our two new sponsored riders, Molly McAllister and Ebony Roderick. They are both based nearby in North Yorkshire and County Durham respectively, and they are both ambitious young event riders.  Molly campaigns two event horses, her gorgeous grey mare Superior View (Gracie) and her striking dun gelding Dunn Star. Molly has had a great end to her 2023 eventing season with three top ten placings in September alone! We can’t wait to see how she gets on after the horses have had a winter break and she can crack on with her training plan using our fitness and rehab facilities.

Ebony is a member of the Northern under-18 event riding team and has two horses to ride at the moment, the striking coloured Pixel Perfect (Pixie) and Ardlea Sir Peter (Podgy!). Ebony has enjoyed a successful eventing season which took her all over the north of England and up to Blair Castle! Just like with Molly, we’re excited to see how Ebony’s 2024 season pans out and we love welcoming her here to Thorpe Farm to work her horses.

A big ‘thank you’!

If you were one of the hundreds of people who applied but weren’t successful, then a huge thank you for the time you took to apply. We loved reading all about your horses and ponies and the big dreams you have with them. Horses really do make so many people happy, don’t they? Thank you.
