It’s that time of year again! There’s a tin of Quality Street by the kettle in the yard, mince pies and mulled wine now account for around half of our daily calorie intake and there are still so many presents to buy and wrap… If you’re anything like us, you’re probably juggling a million things and trying to remember to be very festive as well, so we thought we’d share a quick reminder of what’s going on this Christmas at Thorpe Farm. That way, you can plan some of your horse tasks in advance and tick them off your list! Let’s get started…
Left present buying to the last minute?
If the recipient is a horse owner, why not get them a Thorpe Farm gift voucher? That way they can put it towards enjoying the perfect ground on our gallops, water treadmill or salt therapy sessions for their horse or even put it towards a holiday livery slot and jet off for some sunshine in the New Year. Our festive opening hours
If you’re working towards a horsey fitness goal ready for spring, trying to get on top of a skin or respiratory illness, or just trying to escape another round of turkey sandwiches with the in-laws, you’ll want to make a note of this info! Here’s when you can book our salt therapy chamber and/or the water treadmill for sessions over the holidays… Our gallops remain open every single day!

Gallop off the Christmas pudding
Our gallops are open every day from dawn to dusk, so why not come along and blow the cobwebs away this Christmas? You’ll have sole use for up to four horses, so you can come on your own, come along with friends, gallop at top speed or use them for some gentle schooling and change of scenery. Just make sure you’ve booked your slot in advance and if you fancy wearing some antlers and tinsel for an extra-festive gallops session, feel free! One hour of private gallops hire costs £15 +VAT (£18) per horse.
Finishing the year with a ‘thank you’
We’re wrapping up the last blog for 2024 with a quick message from our very own Amy and Tommy:

We love seeing people bring their horses to use the gallops and cross-country field, and tracking how everyone is doing during the competition season is a highlight of our year. We’re also thankful to be trusted with you beloved horses and ponies for holiday and rehab livery, as we know how much people miss their four-legged best friends when they’re away.
