We might still be enjoying summer here in North Yorkshire, but at Thorpe Farm our thoughts are already turning towards crisp mornings on the gallops, wrapping up warm for a day at the races and, most importantly, the return of the Thorpe Farm Racing Club!
Launched last season, the Racing Club was created to give people who love racing the opportunity to get closer to the action without the commitment of owning a racehorse themselves.
But it quickly became about much more than simply following the horses.
Itβs about bringing together a group of people who love racing, enjoy a bit of craic and want to experience all the fun and excitement that comes with being part of a racing yard.
And for the 2026/27 season, weβve got a really exciting group of horses for our members to follow.
Meet the 2026/27 Racing Club horses
π As The Lad Says (Ernie)
π Hornet No Limit (Kit)
π Bally Kelly (Tonto) β a new purchase for the yard who stays three miles and gives us plenty to look forward to this season.
π Dibble Decker (Dibs) β another new purchase and an exciting addition to the team, who could also go hunter chasing.
Of course, racing wouldn’t be racing without its ups and downs, and there are never any guarantees about where the season will take us. This team of horses may change as the season progresses but you will always be informed. That’s all part of following the journey β from watching the horses at home to waiting for entries and declarations and, hopefully, celebrating some great days at the races together.
More than just a day at the races
One of the things we love most about the Thorpe Farm Racing Club is the community around it.
Members will be part of our dedicated Racing Club WhatsApp group, where we can share updates from the yard, plans for the horses and all the chat as the season unfolds.
There will be opportunities for yard visits, giving members the chance to see the horses at home, meet the team and get a little closer to what goes on behind the scenes.
Then, of course, there are the race days themselves.
We’ll organise opportunities for Racing Club members to attend when the club horses are running, and members will also go into a ballot for places at selected race meetings when other Thorpe Farm horses are running.
And because a Thorpe Farm day at the races wouldn’t be complete without some good food and even better company, there will be Thorpe Farm picnics at the races along the way too!
It’s this side of the Racing Club that we really want to build upon this season – enjoying racing together, following the horses and creating some brilliant days out with a group of like-minded people.

Most importantly, though, the Racing Club is about sharing the journey.
There will hopefully be exciting days, plenty of anticipation, lots of racing chat and perhaps a winner or two to celebrate along the way!
